| The following is not a poem, a mere update on my state of being, rather.
Cold wind and wet feet. Pretty dead leaves.
Late nights, too much coffee. Swollen eyes.
God's sunny and overwhelmingly contagious smile - the mornings.
Long hours, for nothing. Or maybe for a wrong something.
Heritage sinking away. Perhaps sad more than fearful.
Choice, at the end of the day - choose up. No matter what. |

| FALL BREAK: Boulder, Colorado
It's so beautiful here! You can actually see stars at night, the moon is the brightest I've seen in a long time, the town is surrounded by gorgeous snow-capped mountains, the trees lining the streets are various shades of red, yellow, and orange.
We've walked round downtown Boulder and downtown Denver - they're filled with so much more flavour than Springfield! If I have to live in the U.S. for a short time before going back overseas, I could live in place like this.
Last night we went to a place called the "Grizzly Rose" - a line dancing joint. That was heaps of fun! I was surprised that there were all types of people, not just cowboys; preps, emo kids, jocks. Trying to keep up with everyone made me want to learn all the steps, buy a cowboy hat, and memorise the words to country songs. |

| Wow. Hectic first part of the semester. Heaps of good rolled into the workload though, so no worries.
Fall break starts in a few days; headed to Colorado with two girls on my floor!
I guess there will be no soon change in the occurance of natural disasters round our world... ? Help us, Lord. |

| Welcome back! Lots to live, this year. Prepare yourselves. :) |

| I'm leaving Charlottesville, VA tomorrow. My cousin Mallory, and I, are driving to New York City for the day and night, then I fly to Missouri the following day. I'm glad we could fit in a little roadtrip before I take off, and to no other place than the Big Apple!
I'm sad to leave here though. Within the past eight weeks I've built a little life out of my relatives and job and this beautiful area. Of course I'm excited about being back at school, with all of you people who I love tremendously. I seem to have this recurring problem of wanting to be in two places at once. Life is two good.
I'll be back in Springfield on the 17th - so give me a ring if any of you are around. Excited to see you all soon. |
